The Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance in Cairo organized a ceremonial meeting to honor the Arab Nasserist activist / Farouk Al-Ashry, who passed away on Sunday November 14, 2021. The ceremony was held on the evening of Sunday, November 28, 2021 with the participation of all progressive political forces in Egypt, and with Arab participation from several Arab countries (Lebanon – Syria – Palestine – Yemen – Iraq – Algeria – Libya).

The ceremony was opened by Dr. Gamal Zahran (Assistant General Secretary of the Gathering, and Coordinator of the Gathering in Cairo), amid a crowd of attendees, praised the activist Farouk Al-Ashry, and his history of struggle throughout his life since his birth on the tenth of April 1938, to leave us on his 84th year, praying for mercy to be bestowed upon his soul and offering condolences to his family, as some of his sons participated in the ceremony.

Dr. Yahya Ghaddar, secretary general of the Global Gathering in support of the choice of resistance from Beirut, praising Al Ashry’s activisim, the history of his resistance against Zionism and support for the Palestinian cause.

Then Abdel Hakim Gamal Abdel Nasser took part by phone, praising Al Ashry, and thanking the gathering for establishing the value of loyalty, and saluted all attendees, apologizing for not participating in attendance due to health conditions.

Ahmed Bahaa Shaaban (chairman of the Egyptian Socialist Party, praised the struggle history of Ashri.

Then Dr. Ali Askar, Secretary-General of the Arab National Forum in Lebanon, spoke on his own behalf and on behalf of MP Osama Saad, head of the Nasserite Popular Organization, and praised the positions of Al Ashry and his struggle.

Then MP Atef Maghawry (currently a member of parliament and deputy head of the Unionist Gathering Party) spoke to indicate the unanimity of the political forces in Egypt on admiring late activist Farouk Al-Ashry as he was a solid fighter for the Palestinian cause and confronting Zionism.

The activist Dr. Karima El-Hefnawy (Secretary of the Egyptian Socialist Party, and member of the Board of Trustees of the Assembly), gave a speech and praised activist Farouk Al-Ashry.

Then Dr. Kamal Mughith (activist and educational expert) spoke and praised Al Ashri and his stances, since the establishment of the Socialist Youth Organization in the 1960s.

Then MP Hamdi Al-Fakhrani spoke and praised Al Ashry’s life of activism his role with Dr. Jamal Zahran in the struggle against corruption.

Then Dr. Ahmed Qassem (Yemen) spoke, praising the late activist and the Gathering.

Then Muhammad Abdal Ghani (member of the Board of Trustees of the Gathering in Cairo and a lawyer), praised late Farouk Al-Ashry and mentioned many of his positions of struggle.

Then Dr. Taha Tantawi (the leader of the People’s Socialist Alliance Party), praised the struggler of Al-Ashri.

Then Ibrahim Hassan (the Nasserite leader) and a friend of Al-Ashry gave a word.

Then Amina Hassanein (the Nasserite leadership) praised the struggler Al-Ashri, describing him as the professor and sheikh of the Nasserites.

Then Ashraf Rashwan (a member of the board of trustees of the Gathering in Cairo and a representative of the youth of the gathering) praised late Farouk Al-Ashry.

Then each of Muhammad – member of the Nasserite Party), and Nahed Mazarik – Coordinator of Women Pioneers in Suez and member of the Gathering in Cairo, Prof. Jihad Mahmoud (member of The Pioneers movement), Tariq (member of the Board of Trustees of the Gathering) all of which spoke consoling words about the late Al Ashry.

Then, Muhammad Reda Tolba (the Nasserite leader), praised the history of the great struggle of late AlAshry, and his positive effects in the history of the Nasserite struggle.

In conclusion, Dr. Muhammad Abu Al-Ela (acting as the head of the Arab Nasserist Party), praised the long history of Al Ashry, and how they bonded together in the Nasserist movement. He expressed his deep sorrow for the loss of this fighter, at a time when we needed him.

After two and a half hours, the man was praised in a large crowd, and then a memorial photo was taken of the grieving participants, in the presence of one of late Al Ashry’s sons.
