The Syria branch of the Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance held a lecture entitled: Siege or Sanctions, for Dr. Tim Anderson, Assistant Secretary-General of the Global Gathering in Support the Choice of Resistance and Head of the Center for Counter-Hegemony Studies.
The lecture was at Al-Sham Private University in Damascus, on 11/11/2021, in the presence of a crowd of university students, Dr. Nidal Ammar, General Coordinator of the Gathering in Syria, Member of the People’s Assembly, and Dr. Rania Zarir, Vice President of Al-Sham Private University, and Dr. Hussein Mkaled, Dean of the Faculty of International and Diplomatic Relations, and a number of media personas and guests.
The lecturer spoke about the importance of distinguishing between sanctions and siege, and what is happening in Syria is a terrorist war and an unjust siege against the state and the people.
He mentioned many examples of the policies of American hegemony in the world, such as: Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, North Korea and other countries of the world.
At the end of the lecture, a dialogue took place between the students and the lecturer, who shed light on various aspects related to the events taking place in Syria, the region and the world.
Professor Isabella Zeidan, a lecturer at Al-Sham Private University, interpreted the lecture and the dialogue that took place with the students.
At the end of the lecture and dialogue, Dr. Tim Anderson presented a gift and distributed it to the students for free. It was his book entitled: The Axis of Resistance. Towards and Independent Middle East.
Because of his great belief in the necessity of reading and understanding this book by students and youth in Syria who will contribute to building their country Syria.
