The Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance receives the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Cuba
The Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance received at its headquarters in Beirut on Wednesday, the eighth of June, His Excellency the Ambassador of Cuba, Jorge Léon Cruz, in the presence of a crowd of political activists and representatives of the Palestinian factions, Mr. Kassem Saleh Secretary General of the Arab National Conference, Mr. Mohtadi Kdouh assistant of Head of Arab and international relations in Hezbollah, representative of the Islamic Jihad movement, brother Mahfouz al-Munawar, representative of the Palestinian Intifada movement Salem Wahbi Abu Jamal and Ansar Allah movement representative Harbi Khalil and Ahmed Jihad and Dr. Imad Jabri for the Lebanese Popular Congress and Ali al-Khatib, head of the Association of Palestinian Graduates from Cuban Universities and Institutes and Lawyer Dr. Al-Mu’tasim Billah Adham, media persona and journalist Amr Nassef, lawyer Ramzi Dassum, head of relations for the Lebanese and Palestinian parties in the Free Patriotic Movement, Samir Abu Jaber from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Dr. Muhammad Khair Itani, head of the Beirut Popular Gathering, Ahmed Alwan, head of the Lebanese Wafa Party, Hassan Alayan, head of the Union the deportees from the Emirates, and others, in addition to the leadership and members of the Board of Trustees of the global gathering in support the option of Resistance.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary-General of the Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance, Dr. Yahya Ghaddar, took the floor. He welcomed the Cuban ambassador, after briefly reviewing the history of the Cuban revolution, starting with leader Castro and passing through commander Guevara. He referred to Cuba’s relations with the Arabs in general, Egypt, Syria and the Algerian revolution, and keeping pace with international and Arab liberation movements and its solidarity with Venezuela and the peoples of Latin America, after referring to the American blockade of Cuba and the resulting damage to the Cuban people and its effects on the overall economic conditions of Cuba.
Then, His Excellency the Cuban Ambassador presented a lengthy lecture on Cuba’s history, international struggles and cooperation with the Latin American and Arab peoples, starting from the revolution. Algerian and Western Sahara, and then he talked about the Palestinian cause, where he stressed what he described as the two-state solution without forgetting to refer to the right of return for Palestinian refugees, and here after he elaborated on the embargo imposed by America on Cuba and the damage that the blockade left behind, a crime against Cuba.
At the end of the lecture, the speech was addressed Dr. Yahya Ghaddar and after him a number of participants to express their absolute rejection of the two-state solution as it does not represent the essence of the Palestinian cause , and that the conflict is an existential struggle with the temporary entity.
The Cuban ambassador responded by saying that he expresses, as a diplomat, the official position of his country’s government, expressing his personal respect for what the objectors stated, stressing that Cuba supports international resolutions, including those related to Palestine, but can only support any position taken by the Palestinian people including the liberation of Palestine and the building of its independent state with AlQuds as its capital, and he supports the clarifications made by the attendees.
In the end, the meeting was benefitial in that it moved the participants to express their principled positions on the Palestinian cause, while they pointed out what the Cuban revolution had in common with the various Arab and international issues of liberation and, of course, was the central issue of the Arab nation, which is the mother issue, the cause of the Palestinian people in their struggle with the Zionist enemy.

Your Excellencies,
Brothers and sisters, members and friends of the gathering.
Castro, the commamder of international fighters, never raised a white flag.
Guevara, the internationalist leader who dedicated himself and his soul as a saint for the victory of the global revolutionary to attain human rights and achieve human humanity.
Cuba, the people, the leadership, and the revolution that taught nations and peoples the legend of resistance, steadfastness and struggle, and recorded its revolutionary, struggling name in the book, The Future of Human History, with letters of gold and words of light.
Cuba is a story of a people and leadership that will remain a pioneering story as the most important and precious unique human experience to teach nations, peoples and revolutions how a people besieged for nearly a century, targeted by poverty, hunger and disease, at a distance of a stone’s throw from the shores of the aggressive and savage United States, where many have surrendered to it from continents, empires and nations getting beat down by the arrogant head of the unipolar world.
Cuba continues to resist, perseveres, heals, advances, creates science and expertise, produces doctors, drugs, professionals, and professors, extends a helping hand to the world, and wins the longest, most dangerous and most severe war of sanctions, siege and starvation.
Cuba, the exceptional revolutionary phenomenon, upsets the balances, breaks its siege, turns with its model and specific capabilities into a victor, and wins the war in South America and the Caribbean, so it and the peoples of the Caribbean and their liberation movements become powerful, besiege the savage America and expel it, based on the peoples and their revolutions that derive from the Cuban model and genius, their slogans and plans of struggle. This resulted in the emergence of Venezuela in the face of siege, conspiracy and attempts to overthrow the Bolivarian revolution, which continues to deepen to embrace its sister and lead the transformation into a free and sovereign continent and to a new multi-polar world free from the domination of the savage Yankees.
Greetings of brotherhood, comradery, and gratitude to Cuba, the revolution and steadfastness to Cuba, to its creativity, science, healing, and the people who have not been defeated and will not be defeated, but rather turn their revolution into a model to be emulated and generalized.
Cuba will continue to support Palestine and the revolution of its people until complete liberation and the return of truth to its owners.
The oppressor and the aggressor are one from America to the East, and the struggle of nations and peoples is one, hence we must unite and integrate to bring down the brutal imperialist forces of oppression.
The global gathering to support the option of resistance with its universality and its support for the option of resistance is identical and integrated with Cuba and its revolution and the axis of resistance.
Together, we march until the liberation of peoples and the realization of human humanity.

Summary of the speech of the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Cuba
His Excellency Ambassador Jorge Leon Cruz, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Cuba, gave a rich presentation supported by facts and data on the struggle of the Cuban people and revolution and its legendary steadfastness to bring down the longest and harshest siege war and sanctions imposed by America and the imperialist West in human history.
He affirmed Cuba’s continuation of its revolutionary spirit in adopting and supporting the causes of Arabs and peoples in their struggle against tyranny, colonial forces and wars of sieges, stressing that Cuba will always be with the Palestinian people in their revolutionary choices and decisions to achieve their interest and liberate the usurped land.
He also thanked the global gatbering for supporting the choice of resistance for providing the opportunity to meet with elite fighters, mujahideen, representatives of political forces and resistance and intellectuals in Lebanon, and praised the steadfastness and resistance of the Lebanese people and the remarkable historical victories achieved by their resistance.
