“A nation that resists will triumph”

At the invitation of the People’s Movement Party in Tunisia, the Tunisia Forum in Support of the Resistance took place on January 13 and 14, 2024, under the slogan “A nation that resists will triumph”
The forum was opened through a massive speech festival attended by delegations of the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance factions, several forces and parties supporting the resistance, the Arab National Congress, and the Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance. In addition to the Speaker of the Tunisian Parliament, the Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labor Union, and some ambassadors of countries that support the resistance including the Syrian Arab Republic, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. In addition to a large number of representatives of parties, national organizations, and Tunisian associations that are in support of the choice of resistance.

The Secretary-General of the People’s Movement, representing the party organizing the forum, and the heads of delegations of the resistance factions in Palestine and Lebanon, delivered speeches during this festival including Dr. Basem Naim, a member of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine “Hamas,” and Mr. Ihsan Ataya, a member of the political bureau of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine. Also, Comrade Leila Khaled of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and Sheikh Hussein Ghebris, a member of the Lebanese Hezbollah ‘s Central Council and the member of the International Union of Resistance Scholars. In addition to Mr. Abu Adnan of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command. Then representatives of the parties, forces, and organizations supporting the resistance, led by Mr. Hamdeen Al-Sabahi, Secretary-General of the Arab National Congress, and Dr. Yahya Ghaddar, Secretary-General of the Global Gathering in Support of the Choice of Resistance.
Most of the speeches focused on the course of events since October 7, 2023, and the subsequent brutal Zionist aggression that targeted Gaza and the West Bank. In addition to the unprecedented triumphs achieved by the resistance in confronting the aggression.
Speeches also appreciated the role of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, and Ansar Allah in Yemen, who took the initiative to open support fronts that greatly contributed to reducing the pressure on the resistance in Gaza. Also, the enemy suffered qualitative losses that confirmed that the era of the enemy’s military and technological superiority had ended for good.
The participants also praised the initiative of the People’s Movement in Tunisia to organize the forum to develop new proposals that meet the military achievement of the Al-Aqsa flood and the humanitarian cost of the aggression. And goes beyond mere support towards actual partnership in bearing the cost of resistance, especially in its political, media, and humanitarian dimensions.
The presence of the resistance factions was also greatly welcomed by the audience who attended the speech festival.
Forum workshops:
Following the speeches, the conference’s activities were divided into three closed sessions as the organizing body suggested:
1. October 7: Event, context, and repercussions.
2. Ways to sustain and develop resistance support mechanisms.
3. “Resistance Support Forum” from an initiative to an institution.
