Dr. Ghaddar participates in the session of the “Arab Association for Political Science,” the fifth annual scientific-academic conference
The Arab Association for Political Science opened the fifth annual scientific-academic conference, entitled “The Al-Aqsa Flood Operation and its Arab, Regional and International Repercussions,” in the hall of the Al Saha Hotel – Airport Road, under the patronage of the Minister of Information in the caretaker government, Engineer Ziad Al-Makari, represented by his advisor, Mesbah Al-Ali, and the President of the Lebanese University. Professor Bassam Badran, represented by the Dean of the Higher Institute for Doctorate in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Brigadier Mohamed Mohsen.
The opening was attended by: former Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismail, representative of the Iranian ambassador, political advisor at the embassy Maytham Qahramani, former MP Nasser Qandil, Chinese military attaché, President of the Arab Society for Political Science Jamal Zahran, Director of the Center for Arab Unity Studies Jamal Wakim, the Secretary-General of the GGSCR Dr Yahya Ghaddar and a number of party representatives and academics. The session was moderated by the Secretary-General of the Association, Hassan Al-Ashmar.
Al-Ali
Al-Ali delivered a speech by the Minister of Information, saying: “Despite the importance of holding the fifth annual academic scientific conference, and the pleasure of the partnership between the Ministry of Information and the Lebanese University, the needs and requirements of work in the Ministry of Information necessitated the travel of the Minister of Information, Ziad Al-Makari, abroad in order to collect what could be collected for the official media institutions in Lebanon, he apologizes with confirmation to follow-up, given the importance of the conference slogan: Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and its Arab, regional and international repercussions.”
He continued: “In the fall of 1989, the Berlin Wall collapsed. The importance of this event was not realized at the time, as much as it was an indicator or spark to change the global system at that time and bring about radical changes on the entire map of the world. The socialist system collapsed, with the exception of China, Cuba, and some separate countries, as a result of immediate experiences related to the societies of these countries. America, the only empire, controlled the entire global system in the world and imposed its vision in various parts of the world.
He added: “America imposed a unilateral vision, ignited wars, invaded Afghanistan, then invaded Iraq, and between them, it tried to hold a peace conference for the Middle East issue, as it was called, in order to extract the legitimacy of Israel’s existence.”
He believed, “Remembering the collapse of the Berlin Wall now is somewhat similar to Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, which is not only a passing military operation for the Palestinian resistance, as much as it is a strategic decision based on breaking the idea of the establishment of Israel and the idea of its survival and eliminating the Palestinian people as their cause.”
He added: “The Zionist narrative about the events related to the overall Palestinian issue has fallen due to the lack of media credibility. This is a very important aspect. The Zionists have been trying to brainwash us for decades, from 1948 until today. In addition to another action, which is the absence of justifications for promoting the establishment of the idea of Israel as an oasis of democracy among failed states and backward Arab peoples living outside of history. “
He said: “This is how the Zionist movement saw the Palestinian issue, and this is how it invested in the Israeli occupation to promote its idea in Western societies.” But, look into the distance, look now at the student movement within universities in America, at European public opinion rising up against its officials and politicians to support the cause of Palestine and its people. “
He stressed that “the Palestine issue has been revived, and not through conferences like Madrid, Geneva, Oslo or others. Palestine is now present on the international scene, and Operation Al-Aqsa Flood has accomplished its mission by returning the issue to its first place as the issue of a right people and a humanitarian issue summed up by the right to establish a Palestinian state.”
He continued: It is not a matter of political and military conflict confined to a specific spot within the Palestinian territories, as much as it is an act of faith that will affect changes in the entire world.
Al-Ali pointed out that “the initial conclusion of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation is that it imposed new historical facts that will impose new strategies throughout the world, and there are definite changes, the most prominent of which is the general feeling of the absence of Israel’s role in the Arab depths, if not to say that it has become a heavy burden that is being discussed internally.” At least, on how to mitigate it, if not get rid of it.”
He concluded: “In front of a group of academics and researchers, we can only ask questions, if not concerns, and we can only rely on your interventions in this conference in order to answer those concerns as much as possible.”
Mohsen
For his part, Mohsen Bassem, President of the Lebanese University, praised “the role that the association plays in addressing vital issues in our Arab and Islamic world in using human knowledge in a systematic way to move on the path of truth and righteousness and achieve people’s well-being and happiness.”
He stressed “the great role of scientific research in building national awareness, the culture industry, and resilience in the face of crises, and that the researcher must accompany the oppressed people, regain their stolen land, and present a clear picture of the afflicted homeland. So what if homes are destroyed and children, parents, and women are killed?” “
He said: “The researcher expresses the cause of his homeland and the people’s efforts to liberate themselves from occupation, as is happening now in proud Gaza, which does not tire, does not relax, or surrenders for a single moment, because it wants to cross towards freedom and confirm the unity of its existence.”
He added: “Gaza has a prominent position in Palestine, because it is considered one of the most important and oldest cities in the world, in addition to its fame thanks to its vital geographical location. It is the front line of defense of Palestine. As for her children, they live in depression and taste inevitable death amid the devastation and suffocation of the tragic cause.”
Zahran
In turn, Zahran vowed to “hold accountable those who dared to resist and everyone who tried to stop the work of the Association Supporting the Resistance,” and said: “I would not have imagined that there would be anyone who dared to think away from the Al-Aqsa flood, which made millions happy even in the heartland of Zionism, America and Europe, where the free people took to the streets while in the Arab world they did not.”
He added: “Beirut is the only Arab capital of light that receives all members of the association, without any other capital, and this is the reason why the association’s general assembly has insisted since 2019 on holding it every year since that time in Beirut.”
A speech was given by the Director of the Center for Arab Unity Studies, Jamal Wakim, then the sessions began, and the first topic was under the title: Al-Aqsa Flood as a process of national liberation and independence. The conference will last for two days.
