The solidarity stand with the liberated detainee from the Zionist occupation detention centers, the fighter Maher Al-Akhras, and all the activists who were arrested by the Palestinian Authority security services who are coordinating with the occupation.

Concluding Statement

As per the invitation of the Global Gathering In Support Of The Choice Of Resistance, this solidarity stand was held at nine o’clock, AlQuds time, on Monday August 23, 2021 evening, via Zoom, which lasted 4 hours, to denounce the arrest of the released detainee Maher Al-Akhras, and the assault against him with physical attack and insults from the security forces of the Palestinian Authority in coordination with the Zionist occupation, in which the authority was forced to release under popular pressure in the West Bank and in all of Palestine.

Condemning and denouncing the arrest of activists by the Palestinian Authority’s security services, whose only sin is to resist the occupation, confront the settlers who seize Palestinian lands, confiscate homes and forcibly expel their residents, in violation of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention,

In the stand of solidarity with the liberated and struggling prisoner Maher al-Akhras and with all the released prisoners detained by the Palestinian Authority’s security services in coordination with the Zionist entity occupying the land of Palestine, an important spectrum of scholars, clerics, politicians, academics and human rights activists from different countries and continents from South Africa, Europe, the Americas and countries of the Arab and Islamic nations attended and participated in this stand.

After playing the anthem of the Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance, Dr. Yahya Ghaddar, Secretary-General of the Gathering, gave a speech in which he welcomed the attendees in this stand in solidarity with the activists and resistance fighters of Palestine, who were subjected to captivity, arrest, torture and double abuse by the security services of the usurping Zionist occupier authority, time and time again and with great regret, shamefully by the security services of the Palestinian Authority.

The most important thing in the speech is that the Global Gathering In Support Of The Choice Of Resistance, denounces in the strongest terms the practices of the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, the bullying of its security services against citizens and militants and its suppression of political and personal freedoms.

Condemning what the security services of the Palestinian Authority practice, in the same manner as the usurping Zionist occupation forces, of arrests, raids, abuse and assassination of the activists and resistance fighters who reject the Zionist occupation and its tools, and who seek to prevent the settlers’ flocks from seizing AlQuds and expelling its sons from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah and other Alquds neighborhoods.

The actions of the Palestinian authority and its apparatus in suppressing freedoms, arresting and executing the activists and resistance fighters, and abusing their families, are classified under the category of national treason and conspiracy against Palestine and its just cause.

The Global Gathering In Support Of The Choice Of Resistance denounces the Palestinian Authority’s security services, arresting and torturing the great fighter who broke the will of the occupier and the warden, and wrested his freedom with his battle that dazzled the world and achieved broad popular and global solidarity with the issue of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

The arrest, torture and detention of Palestinian fighters by itself represents a flagrant condemnation of the authority and the bullying of its security services who coordinate with the occupation, revealing its truth and turning it into tools of oppression against the Palestinian people. This authority confiscated the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation. It actually exercises the function of protecting the occupation by arresting the heroic resistance fighters and activists of Palestine in exchange for personal and individual privileges for the leaders of the authority in coordination with the occupation.

In this solidarity stand, the Global Gathering In Support Of The Choice Of Resistance calls on the Palestinian Authority to immediately release all the detained activists, fighters and academics, including (Imad Barghouti, Omar Nazzal and Omar Assaf) and the rest of the detainees in the basements and prisons of the Palestinian Authority. The Gathering also congratulates the great activist Maher Al-Akhras for his freedom, his release, and stands in solidarity with him, and denounces the torture and acts of thuggery he was subjected to at the hands of the Palestinian Authority’s security services.

One of the most important features of the solidarity stand was the speech delivered by the daughter of the fighter, Maher Al-Akhras, who expressed her thanks for the rally’s initiative and for continuing the path of struggle for her father. Then the speech of the activist Maher al-Akhras himself, who emphasized the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupation, indicating the Palestinian people’s resentment of the practices and oppression of the Palestinian Authority against its people, and emphasizing the exercise of its path of struggle against the Zionist occupier.

The speakers participating in the solidarity stand unanimously condemned the practices of the Palestinian Authority, in the oppression of its people and its cooperation with the Zionist occupation, and stressed the unity of Palestinian action to overthrow and dissolve this authority, and to hold the Israeli Zionist occupation authority responsible for its occupation of Palestine and the right of the Palestinian people to resist the occupier by all means without exception in accordance with the resolutions International, until the liberation of all of historic Palestine from the river to the sea with its capital, Al-Quds Al-Sharif.

The Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance calls on the Palestinian Authority to immediately release all political prisoners and detainees in the prisons of the Palestinian Authority, and to stop its transgressions, repression and intimidation of our heroic Palestinian people, and to dismantle its relationship, association and coordination with the Zionist occupying enemy and the apparatus of its monstrosity entity.

At the end of the stand to condemn and denounce the repressive practices of the Palestinian Authority security services, and in solidarity with the released prisoner Maher Al-Akhras and all the detained prisoners who are languishing in the ominous prisons of the Oslo Authority, the Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance recommends and demands the following:

First: Strong condemnation and denunciation of the arrest of fighters and activists by the security services of the Palestinian Authority, condemnation of its repressive practices of all acts of resistance and the people’s exercise of their right to resist the occupier, and their right to express their rejection of the persistence of the authorities’ attacks, oppression, torture and killing of opinion-holders who demand the cessation of security coordination with the security services of the Zionist entity, the occupier of the land of Palestine. This coordination aims to protect the occupier and perpetuate his occupation of AlQuds and all the land of Palestine, and to hand over the resistors to the occupier and to detain and arrest them in the prisons of the Palestinian Authority, as required by the security coordination between a Palestinian authority that has lost its national legitimacy, and an occupier of the land of our people in Palestine.

Second: the Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance addresses the Arab Lawyers Union, human rights organizations, the Arab League, and all legal bodies and personalities, to strongly condemn the practices of the Palestinian Authority and lift the political cover from an authority that oppresses its people, kills, arrests, tortures and abuses the Palestinian people’s activists and fighters, to prevent it from resisting the Zionist occupation and prevent their resistance against the seizure of Al-Quds Al-Sharif [by the occupation].

Third: Emphasizing the Palestinian Authority’s loss of its eligibility to lead the Palestinian people, as well as its loss of national legitimacy. This same authority recognizes the fall of the Oslo Accord on which it was established, that notorious agreement engineered by the head of the authority himself, and because of the function it performs, which is to protect the security of the occupation. And the settlements through the “holy” security coordination, according to the authority’s expression and the declared statement of the PA president himself, as well as for the Palestinian Authority’s persistence in attacking the popular rallies condemning the repression of the PA’s security services, its killing of opinion-holders and its arrest of activists, among whom are liberated detainees from the detention centers of the Zionist occupation. Meanwhile, the corrupt agents of the Zionist occupation roam around without supervision or accountability, in addition to the repeated violations by the Oslo authority and its security services of all national standards governing the relationship with the people and their living forces.

Fourth: Facing the repressive practices against Palestinian activists and resistance fighters by the security services of the Palestinian Authority, and the failure of the Palestinian Authority to implement the decisions of the Palestinian national consensus, the most important of which is the cessation of security coordination based on the decision of the Palestinian Central Council held in 2015 in Ramallah and in the presence of the President of the Authority, the decisions of the National Council in 2018 and the outcomes of the trustees 2020, the Palestinian Authority loses its eligibility and legitimacy, which calls on Palestinian activists and resistance fighters, to a united struggle to constitute a force alternative to this authority in the face of the Zionist occupation and herds of settlers.

Fifth: The accumulation of the Palestinian people and their living forces for small victories in their localized battles, to reach the unity of action in the decisive battle by declaring civil disobedience against the occupier in the country and everyone who stands in the face of the popular uprising organized in a united national front that represents all the forces of our resistance Palestinian people and to correct the compass of the Palestine Liberation Organization entity, the Palestinian incubator of the Palestinian National Pact, and not slipping into chaos and lawlessness under the influence of opportunists and extremist currents linked to regional and hostile projects that take advantage of the vacuum created by the gradual retreat and decline of the authority, and the struggle to form a resistance administration that takes care of the people’s affairs and organizes their upcoming articulated battle around AlQuds, for the battle with the occupation is not a religious war as the Zionists claim, but rather a humanitarian battle and the liberation of every inch of the historical land of Palestine from settlements and occupation.

Sixth: The Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance commends the heroic actions of the Palestinian intifada, the exceptional operation in the strip Gaza on the border with the occupied land, and the qualitative development in the forms of united resistance along Palestine within the Green Line, in AlQuds, the West Bank, Gaza and all places of the Palestinian presence, and renews its condemnation of the practices of the Oslo Authority in arresting the demonstrators against the policy of security intrusion by killing and torture within a scheme aimed at disrupting the unity of the Palestinian ranks in confronting and resisting the Zionist occupier and the apartheid regime in the abuse and arrests against the rebellious youth of Jerusalem in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan.

Seventh: The Gathering denounces the escalation of the occupation, its systematic attack in Sheikh Jarrah and the neighborhoods of Silwan and the land settlement project in the northern and eastern suburbs of AlQuds, which constitutes a major challenge and a turning point in the history of the struggle of our Palestinian people against the Zionist colonial settlement project, and in the history of the struggle of the Palestinian national movement throughout the country. The national compass of resistance in all its popular legal, international, political, diplomatic and cultural forms and the mobilization of the Arab and Islamic effort and the free people of the world, in the battle to defend Arab AlQuds, the eternal capital of Palestine. As the master of the resistance, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, heralded, any attack on AlQuds would lead to a regional war, and what our resistance Arab people did in the battle of the sword of AlQuds, which included all the land of Palestine, declares that it is a people capable of liberating the entire occupied Arab soil. And that what was taken by force can never be retained without force.

Eighth: The Global Assembly in Support of the Choice of Resistance decided to seek the assistance of a committee of lawyers, who believe in the right of detainees to freedom, to work for their release, take all legal measures, and participate in defending the case of the assassination of the martyr Nizar Banat and for all the martyrs of freedom of thought, opinion, expression, human dignity and the liberation of the land.

Ninth: Demanding the Palestinian Authority, the Oslo Authority, to respect private and public freedoms, to stop the attacks on demonstrators, and the arrest of activists that targeted personalities and national symbols, and we call on it to immediately release all detainees and people of free opinion. These non-national practices that serve nothing but the Zionist occupation and exacerbate internal tension and harm national relations and expose the thuggery and criminality of an authority that lacks legitimacy against the honorable and resistance of our Palestinian people through the media.
