Being an internationalist is feeling the pain of any people as if it were your own, it is assuming yourself as part of humanity before any other condition, it is overcoming the national fact to understand that the fight against imperialism, colonialism and Zionism has no borders.
I come from Venezuela, a country also attacked, a country also sanctioned. I come from Venezuela, the homeland of the Liberator Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez, the feeling and DNA of internationalism runs through our veins. Not content with having liberated Venezuela and having achieved its independence from Spanish colonialism and when he had already achieved glory and could have dedicated himself to living off it, Bolívar did not hesitate to take the army out of Venezuela to take it to the battlefields of other countries. to help achieve the freedom of Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru, in addition to founding Bolivia.
In the 21st century, Chávez thought the same, but no longer using armed force, but rather making use of Venezuela’s large energy reserves as an instrument of integration of South America in order to strengthen our countries that the United States considers it his “backyard.”
Therefore, when we meet to honor General Soleimani, I carry in the depths of my being, the feeling of solidarity and gratitude of the people of America, first of all, the Venezuelan people for their martyrdom fighting alongside peoples that were not their own. .
I remember at this moment Commander Ernesto Che Guevara, the highest expression of internationalism in recent Latin America who, like Soleimani, gave his life because “other lands needed the sacrifice of his modest efforts” as he said in his farewell letter before. to leave for the fight and immortality. Soleimani is the Che Guevara of Western Asia, he is the Che Guevara of the 21st century. Both were cowardly executed by US imperialism that did not have the courage to face them face to face.

Like them, one of the greatest heroes of our Independence, Marshal Antonio José de Sucre was murdered outside the national territory when he was only 35 years old. Under his command, an army made up of soldiers from several American countries defeated the Spanish colonialist army in Ayacucho, Peru, on December 9, 1824. This year we will commemorate the bicentennial of that feat led by Sucre.
That is why, Iranian brothers and sisters from around the world who meet here today in Tehran, we want to tell you that we feel what you feel. We know that their fight will not stop, men like Soleimani are not born every day, but the people will know how to give birth to others, who, like them, will take up the banners of battle and victory, in Iran, in Venezuela, in Palestine, in Yemen, in Ukraine and in any place where injustice seeks to prevail.
